Toogood x Carhartt WIP

The new collaboration with Toogood recuts archetypal Carhartt WIP shapes and injects them with sculptural volume, creating a unisex capsule collection that combines elements from both brands’ work.

Featuring two jackets, a shirt, a trouser, an overall, and a t-shirt, the collection fuses iconic styles together, such as Carhartt WIP’s Michigan Jacket and Toogood’s Photographer Jacket, signifying the labels’ shared utilitarian aesthetic.

To demonstrate the cutting intervention on Carhartt WIP’s classic styles, Toogood has made a series of one-off pieces, described as ‘hacks’. By cutting open and patching the original pieces in contrast colored fabric, the lines of the recut, the added volume and length, are laid bare.

These ‘hacks’ have been documented and will be shown to coincide with the launch of the collection, alongside three giant sculptural puppets wearing oversized versions of the collaboration garments. This installation will be at Spazio Maiocchi on June 6th - 12th during Milan Design Week.

Toogood x Carhartt WIP is now available at t-o-o-g-o-o-d.com, as well as our online shop and in-store at Carhartt WIP New York and Los Angeles.
