Job Summary


Carhartt WIP USA seeks a Human Resources Associate to work in its New York office. The HR Associate will oversee our growing North American staff of 30 people.


Core Responsibilities


  • Recruiting and hiring of diverse and talented team members
  • Setting competitive and attractive salary and benefits plans
  • Documenting and keeping current employee work agreements 
  • Onboarding and training new team members
  • Overseeing annual performance appraisals as well as quarterly check-ins
  • Maintaining ongoing dialogue with staff members to ensure engagement and to lead an upwards path within the company’s organizational structure
  • Maintaining a safe, positive, and encouraging workplace in-line with occupational safety and health guidelines
  • Resolving workplace issues or concerns between employer and employees
  • Assuring adherence to and compliance with companies internal moral and ethical standards
  • Ensuring compliance with all federal and local employments laws
  • Liaising with appropriate government agencies regarding work eligibility of staff
  • Overseeing accuracy and timeliness of company payroll process and bonus structure
  • Administration and maintenance of companies retirement, health, dental, and vision benefit plans
  • Managing ordering process and distribution of employee clothing allowances
  • Maintaining thorough and orderly employment records for all staff
  • Creating and maintaining job descriptions, team structure and organizational charts. Lead change management initiatives by creating awareness, understanding, buy-in and ownership for change
  • Partner in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures, including the creation and delivery of training/communication programs as needed. Assist in the creation and ongoing maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for various HR functions
  • Monitor and administer PTO and leaves of absence based on employee need
  • Develop a performance review system that includes feedback and ways to improve team performance to meet KPIs


    Requirements / Qualifications


    • Minimum 2 -3 years experience in an HR role 
    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management
    • Experience within a clothing/apparel organization a plus
    • Experience working with an HRIS/HRM system a plus
