Burnout

Shot close to the arid dirt tracks and dense foliage of Topanga Canyon by LA-based photographer Dan Regan, Carhartt WIP’s latest editorial, titled Burnout, explores the versatility of this season’s collection, as summer staples intersect with utilitarian classics. Reflective of a climate of dense daytime heat and plummeting late-night temperatures, graphic t-shirts and layered button-down shirts are paired with items like our Double Front Jacket and Wesley Jacket. Both take inspiration from classic work gear, featuring multiple utility pockets, and are executed in washed denim and garment-dyed cotton twill respectively. The selection is rounded out by accessories, such as caps and bucket hats, in a series of images that interrogates the idea of functionality; from archetypal Carhartt WIP items to those more typically associated with the height of summer.
