Mzansi
Vast yet dense, Johannesburg sprawls further and wider than any other city in South Africa, but also packs more people in than any other.
Earlier this summer, French photographer Sylvain Ali journeyed to the region, exploring its various pockets and enclaves, snapping as he went.
Seen here is the result of his trip – entitled ‘Mzansi’, the word for ‘South Africa’ in the Xhosa dialect, largely spoken in Eastern Cape – with locals, young and old, captured in garments from the Carhartt WIP Spring/Summer 18 collection.
