Job Summary

 

Carhartt Work in Progress North America seeks an experienced Marketing Manager to lead its North American brand marketing activities with an emphasis on commerce driven, digitally influenced execution. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience leading a similarly placed apparel brand as well as a strong grasp on the rapidly changing digital and performance marketing environment. This role will closely liaise with our global Brand Director and global Head of Marketing to best use global initiatives to accomplish local goals and to drive innovative large scale regional projects for local and global use. The Brand Marketing Manager – North America will report directly to the General Manager – North America. This role will be based out of our New York City office and only New York City based candidates will be considered.

 

Core Responsibilities

 

  • Develop short and long-term strategic plans and create and manage a detailed marketing calendar in line with a seasonal release schedule to best drive awareness and growth
  • Align regional brand vision along physical, digital, and social media touchpoints to raise brand profile and extend reach without brand compromise
  • Learning and interpreting local customer personas to best attract upper, middle, and lower funnel customers
  • Conceptualize and execute large scale, upmarket, high-profile brand building events, videos, and photo concepts as well as lead production and seamless roll-outs of intelligent and unique small scale local brand activations
  • Identify and communicate active changes to core customer demographic and behavior
  • Align closely with performance marketing team to drive brand digital performance for both current insights and future marketing direction
  • Own regional organic social presence and oversea creation of unique local content to push sales of available product mix.
  • Oversee yearly department budget and manage spend to align with organizational goals and KPI’s
  • Act as a brand ambassador to advocate for business within highly competitive marketplace
  • Oversee internal and external regional brand communication strategies
  • Manage and properly utilize regional third party PR partner and work closely with in-house global PR to achieve regional brand goals
  • Responsibility for marketing organizational chart growth

     

    Requirements / Qualifications

     

    • Candidate must be New York City based and work from brands regional HQ in Lower Manhattan
    • Minimum 3-5 years managing a multi-channel apparel brands’ marketing calendar and daily strategies
    • Experience building and managing a brand marketing and digital marketing team
    • Intimate knowledge of Carhartt WIP history and place in its subset of the general market
    • Awareness of current business trends and ability to forecast future market movements
    • Adept at managing hands-on event production
    • Close connections and contacts with leaders in the world of fashion, music, skateboarding, photography, and art
    • Top down view of the US apparel industry within the context of other major competitive global markets.
    • In depth knowledge of Carhartt WIP’s sales channels and global distribution network
    • Experience and comfort writing brand appropriate copy
    • Connections and contacts within North America fashion and lifestyle PR firms and brand communication leaders
    • Experience using project management tools like Asana, Monday, Basecamp
    • Compensation: $100,000 – $150,000
