    Ripstop Weaves

    From parachutes to everyday wear.

    Stop It

First developed from nylon, ripstop uses thick reinforcing threads woven into a grid pattern. When the fabric is snagged, the damage stays confined to a small area, so rips and tears don’t spread – but don’t take that as a challenge.

    Ripstop Weaves

Ripstop fabric was designed with function at the fore. Created in the 1940s, originally as parachute material, it wasn’t made to prevent tearing, but to stop a small tear from getting bigger. First developed from nylon, ripstop uses thick reinforcing threads woven into a grid pattern, so when the fabric is snagged, the damage stays confined to a localized area. For the F/W26 Preview Collection, the fabric returns in a dusky, garment-dyed cotton with a softer hand, ready for everyday wear. It appears across field jackets, cargo pants, and outdoor accessories.
